Plantar Fasciitis Equals Painful Steps
It is a blessing to live in or visit a beautiful place such as Palm Desert, CA. The warm, sunny days provide an extraordinary amount of things to do outside. Coming up March 6-9, 2014 is the La Quinta Arts Festival, one of the renowned art festivals in the nation. It is a great way to spend a day—take in the art, events, activities and cultural programs that the festival has to offer. If you wake up with foot pain from plantar fasciitis, though, walking around all day may be the last thing on your mind.
This common foot problem can cause minor discomfort or truly make it difficult to take even a few steps. It often makes its best attack in the morning, when the tendons and muscles in your foot have had the chance to tighten up over night. When you step down, the pain comes from stretching them back out again. Unfortunately, this injury can truly impact your quality of life and keep you from enjoying the things you love to do.
When your arch and heel are really sore, it is best to contact us right away for treatment. We may start you with some rest, icing, stretching exercises and possibly custom orthotic inserts to support your foot. A running or walking shoe that fits properly, with good arch support and a cushioned sole, will also be important to keep your feet free from pain as you move around.
We want you to be able to live life to the fullest, so please call Dr. Harvey Danciger as soon as your feet start to hurt or if you would like some preventative tips. Call our office in Palm Desert, CA at (760) 568-0108 or request an appointment online.
