Are the instruments used safe during a pedicure?

People who get pedicures have to understand that the stores, salons, and shops they go to for their pedicures; typically only clean their instruments between customers.  They do not sterilize them to make sure that any bacteria, fungus or blood products are gone.  If they cut you by accident this could pose a potential problem.

All too often pedicurists cut the cuticles on the toes and this causes an opening for fungus to enter and attack the toenails and possible infection can result.

The safe way is to bring your own instruments with you each time you get a pedicure, so you know where they have been and what they were in contact with.
