Q What are these bumps under the skin on my foot?
There are several conditions that can cause bumps under the skin of your feet, including:
- Calluses from walking barefoot
Calluses can also cause the nearby bone to enlarge as a result of the extra pressure and discomfort, causing the callus to develop into a lump under the skin.
- Wearing poor quality shoes
- Squeezing feet into tight shoes
- Misaligned bones
There is a bone that connects your toes to the ball of your foot and when this bone becomes misaligned, bumps can develop under the sole of the foot. These are often labeled as calluses when they are not.
- Irregularities of your foot structure
- Plantar Warts
- Skin Cancer
- Tumors, also known as plantar fibromas
