What can cause burning, tingling, numbness and pain in my feet?

One cause of burning, tingling, numbness or pain in the feet, is that of entrapment or compression of the nerves supplying the sensations to the feet.  Depending on where the symptoms are located on the foot or leg, various nerves may be involved. This requires a thorough examination testing sensation, muscle strength, reflexes, and sharp-dull sensation.  Also tested are areas which may cause pain when the nerve is touched, or result in radiating pain or tingling when the nerve area is tapped.

There are many different areas from the knee down to the foot where the entrapments or compressions can occur.  Sometimes these can be treated without surgery, other times the compression on the nerve needs to be released surgically.

If you are having any of these symptoms, call Dr. Danciger for further evaluation. Call our office at (760) 568-0108 to make an appointment. We are located in Palm Desert, CA in the Coachella Valley.
