Tarsal tunnel syndrome can present pain, tingling, numbness, burning sensations, pins and needles or funny sensations along the inside of the ankle and the bottom of the foot. This is a result of the posterior tibial nerve, which runs along the inside portion of the ankle, being under pressure by compression. Sometimes, medication, laser treatments, physical therapy, or orthotic devices are treatments which can help relieve symptoms. If unresponsive to conservative care, surgical decompression is needed.
If you are having any of these symptoms see your foot doctor, call Dr. Danciger for further evaluation. Call our office at (760) 568-0108 to make an appointment. We are located in Palm Desert, CA in the Coachella Valley.
